Although Zoom cannot comment on specific correspondence with any individual passenger, it is immediately apparent to us from the description of events that the flight in question is that from New York to London Gatwick on 3 January. The aircraft scheduled to operate that flight had been grounded due to urgent maintenance repair work being required to rectify a technical problem. As safety is always our first priority, the aircraft was grounded (in accordance with Boeing and UK CAA requirements) for these repairs to be carried out before it could fly again. As most of you fellow students must have already realised, academic theory differs greatly from real-life practice. I am studying Law and after having read many cases which I had believed were illustrations of the practical application of the law, I felt competent to apply my legal knowledge and skills to my everyday life. However, I soon came to realise that the beautiful moral doctrines and legal principles are not practically applicable in the same way as they are in exams. 
Undoubtedly, like the rest of us, you are still recovering from the frolics of the festive season, and your wallet may be somewhat lighter after a serious sales session. (Harrods, in particular, has made some serious dentage in my own bank balance and let’s not get started on the bargains I have picked up from Reiss). However, it will be worth foregoing that bottle of wine or a night out or skimping on the Pret salads this week to treat yourself to a ticket to London Fashion Weekend. Unless, that is, you know someone kind enough to forego their own sins on your part, so that you may indeed enjoy that Pinot Grigio after all.
